    Wonder what the strategy of the popo, HKG and triads would be if the populace were as frighteningly armed as so many Americans are??

    PLA long since

    Since Ms Lam can utter “revolution” why cannot she say “withdraw”? Neither she nor the government have any face to lose. Indeed if she actually (far to late) uttered the word withdraw it might perversely give her (a tiny smidgeon of) face.

  3. Guest says:

    Wow, there was a Carrie Lam sighting today.

  4. Stanley Lieber says:

    @Chinese Netizen

    If Hong Kong people were as well-armed as the Americans are, they wouldn’t have to march in the streets for the right to elect their own mayor and city council.

  5. Mary Melville says:

    Its about time a crowd descends on Shek Pik to demand the release of Edward Leung. In the absence of leadership this bright, articulate and charismatic activist could help fill the gap.
    I watched him campaigning in Tai Wai in 2016. Quite arrogant at the time but that trait should be leavened by his months in the clink. His time inside will have brought a certain maturity.
    CE has promised a new direction, lets see some proof.

  6. Paul Lewis says:

    Leung Chun-ying has offered a million dollars for information leading to the jailing of the person who threw the flag into the harbour in TST.
    But now it has happened again, does that mean there are now two one million dollar rewards?
    Also, would someone please go to the next “we support Hong Kong and China rally”, you know, the ones with the very dopey looking participants, and take a few photos of any discarded national flags.
    Just wondering if any of those paper flags are thrown in the bin at the end of the event?

  7. Reader says:

    @Paul Lewis
    Yes, I saw just such a photo of discarded China flags piled up around a bin after the 3 Aug pro-government rally in Victoria Park, in a fairly mainstream news item, which sadly I now cannot relocate. But it exists.
