A quick thought… How are tankies dealing with Trump’s new diesel-fueled pro-Putin/anti-Ukraine pivot? After years of insisting that the CIA forced Ukraine to provoke Russia and leave poor Mr Putin with no choice but to invade, they now find the US aligning with them. According to their usual automatic anti-West triangulation doctrine, they should start siding with evil America’s apparent foe, Ukraine. Or are they welcoming the president of capitalist imperialist USA as someone who has seen the light?

According to one British member I know, the Democrats’ attacks on Trump and suspicions that Russia influenced the MAGA campaign have always been overwrought. In conversations they express disdain for Trump but insist the attacks on him were OTT.
Until recently Trump was playing to his MAGA base isolating the US from Europe’s age-old squabbles. Now, with Iran he has completely messed it up.
Trump is in that pantheon of useful idiots for them and, as far as pro-Putinism goes, it’s another example of the horseshoe theory, which I won’t go into, only to say that I know another Communist Party of Great Britain member (or former) who believes Tommy Robinson is right on.
