Will she pull through? City waits with bated breath

Too sick with worry to do anything today. Just sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the latest news from Queen Mary’s. She should have asked someone to help her pull those suitcases full of cash up the stairs to the store room after every payday – but too stubborn, of course.

  1. Chinese Netizen says:

This is it!! This is the “out” she’s been plotting or waiting for to get out of being CENO and retire to a life of tea and puttering in the garden back in the UK. Or Shenzhen.

  2. Load Toad says:

Is it possible to get sepsis from a fractured elbow? Asking for 6 million people.

  3. PK Aficionado says:

    PK Tang’s PK PK’ed.

  4. Mjrelje says:

Damn shame it wasn’t her neck.

  5. Guest says:

“Broke her elbow trying to crush democracy,” wrote a reader on the SCMP article.

Another reader wrote, “Maybe she was trying to figure out how her Octopus Card works.”

As expected, the wumaos have accused the ill-wishers of lacking decency while forgetting how nasty they can be when someone from the pro-democracy crowd suffers bad luck.

@CN: I hope the UK can prevent Lam from returning there so that she can retire to a remote part of China.

  6. Kwuntong Bypass says:

Crawling on her elbows up to the emperor?

  7. Alexi Bhanja says:

They should just treat her like a racehorse with a similar injury.

  8. Chris says:

Mother has needs too. Hubby must be in the UK on an extended trip.

  9. Chinese Netizen says:

@Guest: totally agree. Persona non grata.

    @Kwuntong Bypass: Ha ha! Perfek!

Self-inflicted case of “getting the elbow”?

  13. Joe Blow says:

Maybe it’s a cry for help.

Love the Joy Division link… excellent choice (as always).

  15. Wolflikeme says:

My kid was jumping around took a bad fall and hurt his arm this weekend. Went to the public hospital A&E on Sunday and they took an X ray and confirmed the fracture and gave a referral letter to the orthopedics dept. at Princess Margaret. Went to Princess Margaret Monday morning and was told we could see a specialist in 3 weeks…

Went private later that day, had a cast put on and was told it would heal in 3 weeks.

Carrie seems to have cut the queue.

  16. Mark Bradley says:

Civil servants can and do cut the queue. They are scum of the earth.

Amid the outpourings over the elbow incident, an amazing coincidence has gone unobserved.
11 Oct 2021: Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor will meet with representatives of property developers tomorrow to discuss her policy address aka the Northern Metropolis.
17 Oct 2021: The Urban Renewal Authority says it’s launching a major study into the future of a 24-hectare site in Sai Wan Ho. A former president of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, Vincent Ho, sees a high potential for a redevelopment project in the area. He says the land is not being fully utilised at the moment.
It appears that some pesky residents who are very happy with their modest and affordable club house less homes in a relatively low rise district are getting in the way of the property developers liking for larger sites.
So the meeting of 12 Oct probably played out as follows.
“Boys, the bosses up north are insisting that we push ahead with development of Northern Metropolis and that means you have to suck it up and agree to the development of public housing on your land holdings’
‘Ummmm, shit, but yeah, we’re patriots. So in return for surrendering those brownfield sites up north you guys will clear out the peskies so we can develop another TKO soulless wall effect enclave in Sai Wan Ho and make lots of readies?”
‘Sure boys, that’s what the URA is for’

So, the Lickspittle says it will take 3 weeks to heal a bruised elbow and will leave dunderhead #2 John Ka-chiu “in charge”. Anyone else see a clear scam so that she can have 3 weeks in UK with not being noticed and no quarantine after?

  19. where's my jet plane says:

    @Mjrelje
Given that she has been sanctioned by the US, she could find it difficult to find an airline to fly her. Of course she could go private.
Even if she did, the UK would probably refuse entry for the same reason (otherwise cue a storm of angry letters to B Johnson) and with all that cash in her luggage…

  20. dimuendo says:

    Moreover

I very much hope that your suggestion that the lady “in charge” should have a three week.vacation.in UK is satirical; it is scurrilous as can.be. I did not think the UK government could fall any further, unless it be part of a plan to let her in.and then arrange she join Mr Assange, which would be wonderful and send a powerful message to the other enablers and appeasers in HK.

Not Moreover. Even Hemlock seems to have (inaccurate) autocorrect.
